Facebook Challenges: Anime, Books, Movies, etc. I’m lazy. Let’s save time…
The quarantine seems to have everyone looking for any reason to share anything about themselves at this point and to drag it out over a period of time to generate personal content. I mean, I guess it’s better than seeing my relatives constantly complete Buzzfeed surveys about “which character, etc.” they are which, as conspiracy-minded people like myself will remind you, is merely just a method of social engineering.
“I wanna protect mah privacy!” – but you share it freely in the Internet and marketing companies everywhere thank you.
It’s also better than reading the hundreds of posts from relatives and friends that are all suddenly medical experts and seem to know so much more than the CDC or the WHO. But I digress..
So here are the challenges I’ve seen floating on my Facebook. Let me know if I missed one that you think I should add.
7 DAYS OF ANIME (“Anime that resonated with me or are foundational to my fandom.”)
- Ghost in the Shell (The original movie; not the series.)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (Hater’s gonna hate, but I this is interpretive sci-fi on a grand scale.)
- Cowboy Bebop (I originally didn’t watch it because it WAS so mainstream and then, upon doing so, realized why: it’s just that damn original/good.)
- Your Name (I am dumbfounded by the number of anime fans that don’t know about this movie.)
- Spirited Away (It was between this and Princess Mononoke, my other favorite Miyazaki.)
- Sailor Moon (Ask anyone who’s watched all of it and you’ll quickly find out there’s more here than “pretty magical girls”.)
- Blood: The Last Vampire (This used to be my go-to for every Halloween. Short. Effective. And damn good.)
7 BOOKS (7 books I love, one book a day, no explanations, no reviews…)
- The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
- A Confederacy of Dunces
- Interview with the Vampire
- The Catcher in the Rye
- Cat’s Cradle

- Snow Crash
10 MOVIES (Each day I’ll post… a movie that has impacted me with no explanation.)
