Looking (and Sounding) Like a Geek for the Miami Herald…
Jun 21st
So – there’s an article about Florida Supercon on the Miami Herald website that features a small video of the show. Yes – that is my voice doing the voice over for it and (more importantly) that really is my hat:
(Note: the video isn’t embeddable – so click here instead)
EDIT: Found it on YouTube. Enjoy!
Florida Supercon is this weekend and…
Jun 17th
I’m swamped. This weekend is going to be MAD busy with events and fun with some great guests (including my good friend Richard Horvitz who is coming to visit.)
For that reason – there may not be a post a couple of days on the blog. See you on the other side of the weekend. :)
Testing the technology
May 28th
Next week I will be stepping outside the United States for the first time in my life (with the exception of Miami.) My tether to the Interwebz will be the unlimited international web I have activated on my Palm Pre for the duration of the trip.
In case I have issues finding a good wifi spot for the laptop, I have installed a WordPress editing app on my phone.
This morning’s post is just me testing that tech from my phone.
Each day cellular phone technology reminds me more and more of something…
My grandmother…
Feb 22nd
This past weekend, I made the drive down to Miami, Florida to do some work for the upcoming Florida Supercon convention. For those of you that know me well, my schedule is a nonstop run from my day job to running my hobby/business to working any one of a dozen creative projects. On rare occasions, though, the timing of things works out to my benefit and I am blessed with some time to see people I wish I could see more often.
One of those individuals in my grandmother.
She lives in a retirement community in South Florida and I was able to stop in and see her last Saturday. You wouldn’t believe it from the photo, but she’s 87 years old – but to me she looks the same as I remember her twenty years ago. It was wonderful to see her again.
That said – my 2 PM in Miami ran to until MUCH later than originally planned and I wound up getting home at around 4 AM the next morning. Sunday was spent sleeping, eating, playing a little bit of XBox 360 and then more sleep. This week is going to be pretty busy – so don’t expect much out of me except for the random “tweet”.
March, though, should be a month of more zaniness and announcements. Stay tuned.
In case you missed it on Green Mustard dot com…

I got a call about a week and a half ago from MTV regarding an upcoming episode of their series MADE. Before you could say “Downtown Julie Brown” I found myself in a conversation regarding making an appearance on their reality show.
My first thought was “aren’t I too old to be on MTV?!”
Then someone pointed out that Madonna still makes music videos… so I should be fine.
So last weekend, I called Mike from Florida SuperCon and dragged him with me for some fun in Miami, Florida. Here’s the article from Green Mustard:

Animation SuperCon’s promoter to join WWE?

You see that? Mike Broder from Animation SuperCon abuses the hell out of his talent and vendors!
(insert laugh track)
All kidding aside, myself and the crew of Wasabi Anime had a great time hosting events and hanging out at this past weekend’s Animation SuperCon in Miami, Florida. (More photos here). The team at SuperCon conventions are always great hosts and we enjoyed their hospitality (as did many of our friends and guests that were also in attendance.)
As a bonus – we took some time to check out Miami before leaving Sunday.
