Shannon got me Red Dead Redemption 2 for my birthday and for the past two nights I’ve stayed up until 5:00 AM hunting down legendary pelts, getting into shootouts, and robbing the occasional train. I tend to fall down the proverbial rabbit hole pretty hard when it comes to fun open world games, and this one is really REALLY pretty. (I have it on a PS4 Pro on a 4K TV… because I’m a nerd.)
Anyway, I was sleeping in today and got abruptly awoken by Shannon coming home because my cell phone was on silent and my nephew had been calling me because he had gotten a flat tire on the highway and we (Shannon and I) were the closest to help if we could. On a mere few hours of sleep I showered, hit up Starbucks, and drive an hour west to help the kid get out of a bind.
It all worked out after a series of funny (from my point of view) learning experiences, and it depleted the Christmas budget for anything Shannon and I had planned for him. (I wound up buying him two new tires.)
In the midst of all of it, I uncovered something strange – family related – which lead to a conversation that led to ANOTHER strange discovery ALSO family related. Lifetime movie level things, folks.
And at this point… I can’t about post it. Any of it.
Needless to say, I got almost no work done today and I’m exhausted and I’m writing this blog post with an excessive use of the word “and”.
And good night.
