Another day – another trip to the vet.
Karma’s still here, though, and (thankfully) she isn’t in any discernible pain. She is, though, bordering on “junkie” level with the amount of drugs she’s taking.
- Heart medication
- Liver medication
She has pain meds on “standby,” but we haven’t had to give them to her yet.
With all that in mind, we actually have GOOD NEWS. Her latest vet appointment determined that she is, in fact, recovering slightly. Her paws reacted to having feeling (a big difference from last week) so it looks like we’re moving in the right direction. It’s going to be a slow process that will take four the six weeks of keeping her confined to her baby play pen (I refused to buy her a dog crate) – but there’s still hope.
Next week, in true “new age” dog mode, Karma will be starting acupuncture. While I initially thought this sounded a little wacky, I have since talked to multiple folks about the success they’ve seen with it in older dogs.
So thank you for all the positive thoughts that have been out there for our elderly puppy. She’s still with us and, hopefully, will be so for a bit longer.
