I have mild OCD when it comes to a clean living space. For some reason, I find “inner peace” when I get myself deep in the midst of cleaning my car or home. It’s relaxing and it helps get my brain back on track when things seem a little out of control. One of the biggest perks of moving from a house back to an apartment has been less to keep clean/organized. This doesn’t mean that things need doing, though, from time to time.
This weekend I decided to step away from my daily work routine to get a couple of “home” projects done that I had been putting off for a little bit. The first was hanging up a second set of kitchen hooks for my ever growing Starbucks mug collection. I have traded out my classic collection and have started a new You Are Here collection based on my local travels. Current count: 18 mugs.
The other project has been to set up someplace for my wife to hang her bazillion running medals. I had been researching ideas for a while, and I finally found a set of medal displays I liked. So for (sort of) symmetry purposes, I got the male version of one of them for my side of the bed for – you know – my two medals. Here’s mine:
In comparison, here’s Shannon’s:
One of us is a “runner” and the other one “runs occasionally”.
Anyway, getting those two home projects done have made me feel a LOT better and more focused again – so I’m looking forward to work again on Monday. So much to do…
