Let me start out this blog post by pointing out that I own this movie on DVD and (to date) I still have not brought myself to watch it. You see, it only made it to publication in the past few years.
FLASHBACK: In early 1992, I got involved with a local production called “Trilogy of Fear”. It was a low budget horror film shooting in and around Stuart, Florida. The small beach town loved it and the local news covered us popping up at various locations in town. In the format of the classic horror films like Tales from the Darkside and Creepshow, Trilogy of Fear was three short stories each with their own sordid tale to tell.
The glue that held them together? Character actor Claude Akins as the narrator.
I was one of the key characters in one of the stories: a teenager named Tim who is seduced my a older woman who (shocker!) is a vampire. I am, of course, turned into a vamp myself and hunted by my brother and sister.
Yup, I was involved in some pretty weird shit in my younger days.
Before being bought and released by Troma pictures, the flick was titled Trilogy of Fear. Here’s the preview they used to shop it around from my YouTube feed:
NOTE: You can now buy it online under the name “Where Evil Lives” – http://www.troma.com/films/where-evil-lives/
ADDED NOTE: In retrospect, I remember signing a “back end deal” for points from the profits of this film. I wonder where my McMillions are?
