Talk about “back in the day”…
In the early days of Universal Studios Florida, there was a blue screen “screen test” attraction next to the old King Kong ride (which is now the Revenge of the Mummy ride). The attraction, called “Star Trek Screen Test Home Video Adventure” would have park attendees dress up in a Starfleet uniform (from the eighties movies) and interact with the likes of Kirk, Spock, Scotty and the crew as part of short Star Trek adventure.
It was cheese-tastic and (for a fee) you could take home a VHS copy.
This video was taken between 1991 and 1993 – I’m not exactly sure when, but based on my look in it I’m guessing somewhere closer to 1991.
So here you go: a video of teenage me and my kid sister acting like dorks in a theme park preserved on magnetic tape (and now digital streaming video) for the world to see.
This is the sort of closet skeleton that will come back to haunt me if I were to somehow become famous.
