(It’s still morning here… though, in Vegas, you can never be sure.)
We’re working on our plan for the day in Vegas. Today is our last day spent on the strip before driving over to the Grand Canyon for a couple of days so we’re looking to do random unplanned things. The point of this post, though, is to illustrate a strange coincidence that happened yesterday. It had to do with this:
The guy in the photo with me is Marcus – and that photo is the ending of another Man v. Food challenge I did. (Look for a post about it next week.)
BUT, this is not about Marcus. This post is about a dude named Mike Olsen. Mike was at the bar watching me try to chow down on an insane burrito and joining the fray of folks attempting to motivate me. (SPOILER ALERT: The picture gives it away how it ended… oh… wait. I’m supposed to say “spoiler alert” BEFORE the spoiler. Oh well.)
Long and short of it: a couple of the guys at the bar got my GME business card, and Mike wound up finding me via the social networking sites.
It seems we have a mutual friend via Facebook.
That’s right folks: some random guy Shannon and I met in a bar in Vegas knows someone I know from my days back at Universal Studios in Florida.
Mike and I worked at a few of the same places in the theme park circles, too. He even used to kill sharks, just like me.
Just a friendly reminder that we truly do live on pretty small planet in the scope of things. 🙂
