Isn’t it great to find out that people talk about you that you haven’t worried about in years? Check out this great post put out today by Dade Bell aka karybdis. It makes for light reading, quotable quotes, and the spectacle of an ass making an ass of himself. He even threatens folks who try to respond back.
Looks like I’ve joined the “David Violence” school of being banned from events since Fujikoma is supposedly keeping me out of their party at AFO4. Sad sad little people in this world. Anyway, here’s what was posted. Enjoy!

Current mood: pissed off
I’ve Made A Decision…
This AFO will be the last con I ever attend outside of FX. I was kinda already feeling that way, but now… I’m just sick of seeing how Tom Croom and Wasabi Anime have taken over just about EVERY FUCKING ASPECT of anime in Florida. Jesus, they don’t even PRODUCE anything. They just latch on to whatever is available and go from there. I can’t read a SINGLE item about fandom in Florida without it turning into some kind of Wasabi thing.
I won’t be attending any Florida Anime functions because like a leach, Tom has stuck himself onto it (sorry, Kel). I’m glad I didn’t do Metrocn because by all accounts, Tom was king of the friggin’ con. I don’t listen to Radio Sci-FI because I don’t feel like listening to Tom. And I know that I’m gonna have to put up with Tom making AFO his con. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, ENOUGH! Can anything possibly happen in anime without the Bill Gates of fandom being involved? I was gonna go to JACON next year, but I won’t. You know why? TOM!!!
What’s worse, people that I thought agreed with me and would maybe hold some kind of line against him are all falling like pins behind him. My God, people, show some backbone! But inevitably, folks who I though maybe had an ounce of dignity in the face of Tom’s silliness, inevitably become his good pals. Well, you know what? The Fujikoma Party at AFO will be Tom-free. I am bouncer, enforced by Mappy himself when we talked on the phone a couple days ago, so I will make sure that at least ONE portion of anime in FL will be sans Tom Croom.
Some of you may think that this is kind of odd coming from a guy who constantly talks about being out of fandom. I *am* out of fandom. But Tom has become such a ubiquitous aspect of ANY kind of anime fandom, that I’ve just had enough. It’s like watching a TV where every channel is showing the same TV shows. For crying out loud, can we have at least a SHRED of difference????
And if anyone of you even DARES to defend TOM’s shit, I’ll flatten you. How many people here were one of the Big Four when AFO 2 was planned and Tom tried to usurp the con? ((raises hand)) Who here actually took THREE WEEKS to lay out a con guide which Tom convinced the others to shoot down so that he can produce a much more half-assed product in Publisher? ((raises hand)) Anyone else? No? Then shut the fuck up! Trust me, NONE of you people know what the Hell Tom can do, so just sit back and shut up. I’ve seen people who should know better and who I though had some dignity just completely fall under Tom’s spell. It almost makes me want to go to some of his Wasabi get togethers at these cons and PROVE that the whole fucking thing is smoke and mirrors. Despite Tom’s schmoozing, Wasabi Anime has no meat whatsoever, and if anyone would just take three seconds to look past the catch phrases and one liners, they would see as much.
And while I’m on the subject, if you know that you’re not one of my favorite people, stay out of my way at AFO. I will completely and utterly bury you. I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating that as anyone who knows me will tell you, I’m not one of these assholes that only talks big online. If anything I’m way more intense in person. So, you who have said smarmy little things to me online after Megacon because you’re tough on the internet had better watch out. If you see me, give me a wide berth. Because I don’t have to worry about being professional. I don’t have to worry about being pissed off reflecting poorly on other staff. I don’t even have to worry about how someone who was once close will protect you. That person made their decision and chose you, so I’ve got nothing to lose.
I’m just a guy with no connections attending a con to buy some stuff and see some people. Beyond that, I have nothing to hold me back. I will have fun at this con and if anyone even thinks about disrupting that, they’re in for some trouble.
